Boston 8.4-11.4

Boston ❤️

For me personally, the best thing was that we found out about an app that offers pre-recorded walking tours. You simply download the tour and switch on your GPS and start the tour at a designated place. The app then starts and your “tour guide” tells you where to go and provides interesting facts about historic or popular sights and places when you pass them. Worked quite well and cost only 8 $. 🙂

We chose the freedom trail tour which was split in three parts (gave us time to eat between tours) and lead us through the city. It was really great as we saw places we would not have seen if we hadn’t done the tour and were served lots of history and secrets about the city and some of its famous townsmen (and townswomen).

Grave of Samuel Adams, one of the signers of the Declaration of Independence
Statue of Benjamin Franklin (we also saw his alleged birth house)
The Boston massacre happened just in front of this very house and rumour has it that the Declaration of Independence was read to the Bostonians from this balcony.
Oldest continuously operating restaurant in Boston
Little Italy
Established in 1723 the Old North Church is the oldest church building (we are talking about the building with the white spire)
St. Stephen’s church in little Italy (Rose F. Kennedy (mother of JFK) was baptised and buried here)
Another highlight: a sunset run along the shore
