Montréal 17.4.-20.4.

We totally liked Montréal! Not quite as cute as Québec but also less touristy and as our hotel was located in the city centre, restaurants, museums, parks etc. were all within walking distance. 😃

Mount Royal borders Mount Royal cemetery which we walked through in order to get to Saint Joseph’s Oratory of Mount Royal. The cemetery hosts quite a range of wild animals. We saw a groundhog, probably a marten (?) and this really big woodpecker!

Top of Saint Joseph’s, there’s usually a nice garden/park-like area around the building but unfortunately it’s been under reconstruction.

We chose the Musée des beaux-arts Montréal and we were not disappointed. Both of us being art-lovers, and having been to numerous galleries together, we enjoyed the exhibition a lot, especially the sections displaying Canadian and Contemporary art.
