Salem 8.4.

The Witch trials… Of course I needed to go to Salem. But just like Provincetown, the city offers so much more than just some evidence and remnants of American history. Beautiful, old houses, a picturesque waterfront and people with a good sense of humour make up this lovely city. Totally fell for it! 🤩

The Salem witch trials were a series of prosecutions of people accused of witchcraft in colonial Massachusetts between February 1692 and May 1693. More than two hundred people were accused. Thirty were found guilty, nineteen of whom were executed by hanging (fourteen women and five men).

This house is called “The Witch house” which is actually misleading because it was the home of judge Jonathan Corwin who played an important role in the hysteria of 1692.
This is were the victims were buried. R.I.P. 🪦

Ich hoffe ihr seid nicht hungrig gerade.. 😉

For all Nathaniel Hawthorne fans out there: yes, the House of the Seven Gables did indeed exist!
