Huntsville (22.-24.4) & Hardy Lake (24.4.)

The whole point of going to Huntsville was actually to go on many hikes in Algonquin Park, just as we did when we passed the park on the way to Huntsville the day before.

Unfortunately, weather conditions were really bad on the 23rd. We started off the day with a bit of snow and rain (which means the snowy trails we walked the day before would be icy) and the air was biting cold. (I think about 3°- 4° Celsius if I remember correctly, some 39 or 40 Fahrenheit plus wind). Nevertheless, we were thankful that we had already spent some time walking on the way to Huntsville after all.

So instead we did a bit of shopping and walked along Main Street but it was literally pouring by then so we just had lunch and went back to the hotel for a very hot gym session thanks to the pool in the adjacent room and hardly any air conditioning. 🥵

We spent the evening planning our upcoming trip with the RV (Wohnmobil).

Hardy Lake

The next day the weather was perfect ☀️ again and we stopped at Hardy Lake on our way to Toronto.

Because of the ongoing rain 🌧️ the day before, parts of the trail were rather muddy. At some points there were even huge puddles and one could only cross by balancing on branches.

We chose a 8,6 km (5,6 mi) walk that wound around the lake, sometimes even crossing it via board walks.

Fazit: ein gut genutzter ‘Reisetag’ 🤩
