First impression of the city? Somewhat snowy…⛄ (Spoiler: the worst is yet to come!)

But we kept calm and carried on and the sun showed mercy and accompanied us throughout the day. ☀️😎

Und was darf für uns natürlich auch nie fehlen? Eine schöne Laufstrecke! 🤩

Absolut sehenswert ist auch der nur 13 km von Québec entfernte, 83 m hohe Wasserfall im Montmorency Park (immerhin 30 m höher als die Niagarafälle!)

Im Sommer kann man mit einer Zipline von einer Seite zur anderen fahren und auch zum Wasser hinunterwandern, zudem gibt es einen Klettersteig. Leider war all das nicht möglich, zur Freude unserer Geldbörse. 🤑

Ach ja, es ist ja noch fast Winter hier, ganz vergessen 🌨️

Hiking a snowy trail the Austrian way (= geht scho irgendwie):

1) Hike a mountain (e.g. Mount Willard) with trailrunning shoes on…

2) Afterwards, read online that everyone else uses spikes on shoes..😂 but we made it anyway!

Afterwards we stopped at the Mount Washington Hotel for some beer and an amazing view on Mount Washington. The hotel, which was constructed between 1900 – 1902, hosted the Bretton Woods monetary conference in 1944 which lead to the establishment of the World Bank and the International Monetary Fund. (Just so you know 😁)

Talking about historic sights, our hotel is the oldest in the area dating back to 1843. It also hosted Richard Nixon and it seems he also gave a speech there!

And another really cool thing: we headed out for my first ever trail run! 🥳 Going up was a nightmare as it didn’t go up and down as expected but just gradually but continuously climbing up all the time. Rather steep. Very steep indeed. But going down we chose a different route and we had the best time. 😁
